It is with great sadness that we are paying Tribute to our Friend and Colleague Peter Sargeant, whose passing was sudden and a shock to us all. Our thoughts and condolences go out to Peter’s family, his wife Caroline, and stepchildren, Lloyd and Hannah, along with the rest of his family.
Life is made richer by the friends we keep, and the people we meet, and Peter Sargeant was someone who you would have wanted to meet.
Peter joined Carl Summers Financial Services in the Summer of 2003, and over the next 20yrs made it his purpose to help in every way he could, sharing his knowledge, wisdom, and humour in equal measure, to all those he met. The reflections shared by his friends, clients and colleagues are a testament to the value he added to all their lives; captured best in the phrase repeated most frequently, he was a thoroughly decent man.
Peter was much more than a colleague; to many people he was a trusted adviser and a loyal friend, giving his time, expertise, and wittiness, unconditionally. His colleagues will tell you, they would not have the career they have, but for him, and his clients have regularly opined that they could not have done it without Peter’s help and support. Peter was well loved and known for his quick wit and gentlemanly nature. Tellingly, he was trusted by clients, many of whom worked with him for years.
Peter always lived locally and always worked in Financial Services, starting his career in 1976 with Barclays, where he stayed for 27years, before joining Carl Summers Financial Services. Outside of work Pete was best known for his love of Crown Green Bowling, particularly at Hadnall Bowling Club, where he was their chairman for the last seven years. He was a brilliant competitor on the green, and a brilliant character off it. Our consolation is that Pete passed away playing the game he loved, in a place he was loved.
Peter will be very much missed by his family and friends near and far, all of us here at Carl Summers Financial Services, and the many clients who became friends to him over the years. It has been our pleasure to work with Peter for nearly two decades, time that has flown by, but given us many memories to be cherished.
